I love that phrase, "the jewelry I made from my own bones." That exactly describes the process of writing and publishing a book, and the weirdness of then sitting at a table hawking what came from deep inside you! May your book have wings!

This sounds amazing. If this post is a preview of the kind of writing you've done in that book, I'll surely read it.

I'm just in my sophomore year of college, on the way to getting a BA in Philosophy. Many of the topics you've outlined are discussed in my classes so this would be a great supplement for my studies. I'm taking Philosophy of Mind, Philosophy of Science, I've taken Epistemology and Metaphysics courses but my knowledge is still surface-level at best.

Thank you for writing TIP and TWBTW. You've inspired me to be a better writer and student.

Are there any plans to publish this internationally? I'm in the UK and would order this instantly if given the chance, it sounds fascinating.

I really like the kinds of examples you collect to prove a point and the cohesiveness in the way you present them.If possible could you do a sort of source scavenging mechanism you employed for this book?

I hope the book does well! ,extremely excited :)

This is the first article of yours I have read, whereby I found you via another Substack author - Alex Olshonsky of Deep Fix, and I have to say you have won my attention with your word play sir. And while I intend to read further into your works on this site, in addition to pre-ordering your new book, I also have to say that because of the eloquent and adept dance of words I've just witnessed, I can only but implore you to also continue working in fiction.

Such talent should not go unexercised in the realms of story-telling, which is (in my humble opinion) the most digestible language to the layman.

Preordered! I'm looking forward to reading more of your take on your 'Falsification and Consciousness' paper with Johannes, as I feel the article and it's implications are woefully underdiscussed by the consciousness science community.

Also great to keep getting these insights into the publishing world. Your advice in your previous article (https://erikhoel.substack.com/p/secrets-of-the-publishing-industry/) on the publishing industry were a contributing factor to me managing to get a book contract in the end, so it's great seeing these articles that provide advice on what I should (or should not) be doing to maximise success. Good luck!

I am currently working through McGilchrist's the Master and His Emissary and it is actively changing my life as I go. This sounds like an excellent follow on for me, can't wait. Preordering now!

The last few years have been peppered by Seth/Metzinger/Clark, deeper looks with the deeper books of McGilchrist/Hofstedter/Whitehead and have Chalmers/Strawson currently on the go, so very much looking forward to this!

Preordered! Very excited to read this Erik and looking forward to hearing you speak, assuming there is a book tour in the works. Perhaps a conversation with John Vervaeke?
